Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Neymar was the star of the match as Brazil maintained their perfect start to the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the South American section with a 2-0 win over Ecuador in Porto Alegre on Friday night.

After a goalless affair in the first half, Ex-Barcelona and Santos forward Neymarprovided the assist for the opening goal of the game twenty minutes into the second half. He made the goal that broke the deadlock courtesy Everton star Richarlison before wrapping up the win on the stroke of full-time.
Neymar secured the win for Brazil late in the game via penalty to take his phenomenal scoring record to 65 goals in the colours of the Selecao. He has an attacking return of 65 goals and 45 assists in 104 games for the Brazilian senior national team and only Edson Arantes do Nascimento also known as ‘Pele’ has more than the PSG player.
Pele scored 77 goals in 92 appearances for Brazil and Neymar is just 12 goals away from breaking his record and he could set a new one if he takes his tally to 78 goals with 13 more goals for his country. World football icon Pele also added 18 goals in 22 unofficial games for Brazil to make it an overall tally of 95 goals in 114 games.
Neymar is the main man for the Brazilian national team and he showed it again during the game against the Ecuadorians. The win over Ecuador took Brazil four points clear of Argentina in second place after the first five set of games in the CONMEBOL region.
