MORATA WILL BE A POSITIVE ADDITION

As Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s summer stay increasingly looks unclear and Rashford being the only recognizable striker in the squad the coming transfer window was never going to be complete until they add another poacher to their ranks.

Although Ibrahimovic has shown he is capable of defying the biological laws of nature, his latest injury has shown that a “fitness issues” variable will not be ignored by the decision makers at Stretford End.

With FIFA denying Athletico Madrid the right to involve in any transfer dealings this summer, the Red Devils’ pursuit of French star Antoine Griezmann seems to have hit a severe breach and thus will have to look elsewhere. Torino’s Belloti, Everton’s Lukaku and even Monchengladbach’s Max Kruse have all being linked with a move to old Trafford.

But one option they could consider and will benefit them more than the aforementioned is Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard worked with Mourinho once and with aged 24 means the Red Devils have a genuine star player who will not only deliver upfront but also provide a genuine competition for Rashford.

Signing the Madrid man means Mourinho won’t have to deal much with the slippery slope of having a difficult dressing room where one elephant struggles to accept the role of exchanging places with a teenager.

In Karim Benzema, Man United have an ally who could further Alvaro’s desire to seek for opportunities elsewhere given that it looks the French man will be around for a while. With the World Cup around the corner, Alvaro cannot risk warming the bench any longer.

The ingredients to lure him seems to have been effortlessly laid out by time and circumstances

It is left for United to push the button.
